About River Valley Orthopedics
River Valley Orthopedics (RVO) was created in 1997 with the merger of Washington Square Orthopedics and Orthopedic Associates of West Michigan. The original physicians included Ronald Hoekman, M.D., Raymond Lovett, M.D., Keith Heeringa, M.D., Kevin Kane, M.D., Kim Eastman, M.D. and Dale Mead, M.D.
Down Town Office
Each group kept their existing offices for the first two years after the merger. In 1999, we completed the physical merger by moving into office space on the 4th floor of the Mary Free Bed Professional Building. Since then we have remodeled several times. The major changes include a larger waiting room, a more confidential check-in area, a third X-ray room, and additional exam rooms. Our business office is located on the 3rd floor. For your convenience, we also provide physical therapy services on the 5th floor.
Second Office
In response to the growing need for orthopedic services and the expanding population of the Grand Rapids area, in February of 2007, we opened a second office located in the St. Mary’s South West Medical Center. Our SW Office provides the full complement of orthopedic services including state-of-the-art digital x-ray, physical therapy and durable medical equipment.
