What is the RVO (River Valley Orthopedics) Patient Portal?
The patient portal is a web-based, secure, HIPAA-compliant communication tool for patients and their healthcare providers. The RVO patient portal is used for non-urgent communication and request. Through the RVO Patient Portal, you will be able to:
• Communicate with your provider and other practice staff
• Receive appointment reminders
• Receive lab/test results
• View your medication lists and visit summaries
• View balance/statement information
• Update your demographic information

 

How do I sign up for the RVO Patient Portal?
Once you are scheduled for an appointment at River Valley Orthopedics you will be asked to provide a valid email address. Once the email address is entered into our system you are automatically web enabled. You will receive a secure email within 24hrs of scheduling your appointment with your user name and temporary password. If you do not receive the email please contact our office at 616-456-8515 for assistance.

 

How do I access the RVO Patient Portal?

What do I do If I forget my username or password, or I receive the message “login failed” from the portal?
If you forget your username or password you can click “can’t access your account?” under the sign in option on the portal. Choose either forgot username or forgot password and click NEXT. This will take you through the username/password recovery process. If you are still having problems accessing your username and password please contact our office directly at 616-456-8515.

 

I have been locked out of my account, how can I unlock it?
Your Patient Portal Account will be locked after 3 unsuccessful attempts. You will need to contact our office directly at 616-456-8515 and request for your Portal account to be unlocked.

 

How do I update my personal information such as, my email address, phone number, street address?
You can access your personal information once you are logged into the portal. Go to the left panel and under “My Account” your will see the icon for Personal information. Once you are at that screen you are able to update your information. Once you are finished you have to click SUBMIT and your information will be updated.

 

How do I contact my provider from the Patient Portal?
Once you are logged into your Portal choose “Messages” on the left side toolbar. Then Choose “Ask Doctor”. Here you can write a message to your provider or to any employee at River valley Orthopedics.

 

How will I know if I have a message waiting for me in my Portal?
You will receive an email notification that you have a message waiting for you in your portal. You will need to login to your Patient Portal, click on “message” on the left side toolbar and then choose “inbox” to view your messages.

 

Are there any charges for using the Patient Portal?
The Patient Portal is free of charge for River Valley Orthopedics patients.
